Weekly Newsletter
Dear Parents and Carers,

We have welcomed Miss Barron back to school after her maternity leave this week. It’s great to have her back with us.

LFPA
Thank you to all of the families who attended the LFPA summer fete on Saturday. There were lots of people enjoying the music, food and drink, entertainment and sunshine. All of the children had a fabulous time on the inflatables and I am sure were completely worn out by the end of it all.
The day would not have happened if it was not for all of the hard work of the LFPA executive committee and LFPA volunteers. On behalf of the whole federation community I would like to say thank you for all of your team work and efforts to ensure that fete was such a success. All of the pennies have been counted and at the end of the day a wonderful £2300 was raised which will go towards both Broadford and Mead Primary Schools.

Diary Dates
As we countdown to the summer holidays, next week will be very busy in school.
On Monday 10th  the Nursery pupils are going to visit Barleylands for the day. Reception, year 1 & 2 have their sports morning at 9.15 am. Year 6 have a healthy eating talk by the school nurse. We have a photographer and journalist visiting from the TES to spend a day with us in preparation for our article in the publication to celebrate our recent awards.
On Tuesday 11th the book club are going to see Wind in the Willows. Year 4 are going to Adventure Island for a thrill seeking day in Southend. In the evening the year 6 pupils will be joined by their parents and families for the year 6 leavers event.

KS2 pupils will be taking part in their sports morning after the assembly at 10.15. The spelling bee team are competing at the cluster competition at Drapers’ Academy. Cherry and Cedar spinebreakers are visiting the library.
On Thursday 13th, Reception are going to Tropical Wings for the day and Year 3 are visiting Colchester Zoo. The Nursery pupils will be taking part in their sporting activities. The Learning Federation governors are visiting both school's during the day visiting classes and talking with pupils.
On Friday 14th, our pupils who have been studying for their LAMDA exams will be taking these exams throughout the day on Friday. Good luck to them all. We would also like to invite parents and carers of pupils in years 5 to join the pupils for their ‘Fiver Fair’. This is the final part of their project and I know the pupil are very excited about sharing their work with you all.
At the end of this very busy week, you will receive your child’s end of year written report.

Sports Morning
Monday 10th July - 9.15am - Reception, year 1& 2
Wednesday 12th July - 10.15am - KS2
We would like to invite all parents and carers to the above events to cheer on the pupils and celebrate their sportsmanship. The children should arrive at school at the usual time wearing their PE kits so that they are ready to go. It would be a great idea for the pupils to bring in hats and we will make sure that their water bottles are full up, as I am sure the weather will be fabulous. We look forward to seeing you there.
