Weekly Newsletter - 23rd June, 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you!
We were overwhelmed at your generosity last week for the school uniform day to support the victims of the Grenfell tower fire. Donations from Broadford Primary School totaled over £500 and across The Learning Federation we collected over £1000. Well done and a massive thank you to each and every one of you. It is amazing to see such fantastic community spirit rise from such a tragic event.

sQuid - Thanks again!
Once again thank you to parents and carers for your tolerance and patience this week, as we move over to the online payment system sQuid. As I am sure you will all  agree any new system has teething problems but this was all made much easier by your support and understanding.
If you have not registered yet, please do so. Parents/Carers should register, for each child, using the information in the letter brought home by pupils, last week and if necessary have deposited monies for dinners. Everyone must register for an account even if your child receives a free school meal.
We have listened to feedback from other school's in the area who have implemented the system and have decided that the kitchen will not be selling drinks. If drinks are purchased it can be very confusing for parents to monitor the value on each sQuid account. However, there will of course be plenty of water/squash available for the pupils every lunchtime.
If you have difficulties setting up or accessing your account Mrs Taylor will be more than happy to help you.

Well Done
A huge congratulations to Mr Portway, Miss Cook, Miss Rollin and all of the pupils who took part in the Primary sports day at Drapers’ Academy on Monday. We are thrilled and extremely proud to announce that Broadford Primary were the overall winners and brought home the winners shield.
It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all. Well done Team Broadford!

Good Luck
Let’s hope that the winning streak continues. On Friday 23rd June, staff members will be attending the prestigious TES awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The school has been nominated as ‘Primary School of the Year.’ Please keep your fingers tightly crossed for us and keep an eye for updates via the blog and school facebook page. We will of course inform you, if we get good news. Good luck Team Broadford.
