Year 3 Closure

YEAR 3 Parents

It is with much regret that we must inform you, that due to unforeseen circumstances, Year 3 classes (Hazel and Sequoia) are not ready for the start of the new school year.

The demolition - despite starting early - has not been completed in time. This means that the classrooms for Year 3 are without:
  • power
  • water
  • data (for computers)
Havering Council only informed the school that they would not meet the deadline at 2pm this afternoon - there was NO prior warning to the school.

We are terribly sorry to state that we must have an enforced closure in place for children of these classes. It is possible that this could take until until Mon 12th September to resolve. However our staff will be working tirelessly to bring this date forward so that the children can come back as soon as possible.

THIS MEANS NO YEAR THREE CLASSES TOMORROW

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we thank you for your understanding. Having phoned almost all the Year 3 parents and families this afternoon we were incredibly touched by how understanding they have been. This is absolutely not the start to the year we would want and we are very disappointed that - having done everything asked to avoid this - we have been put in such a position where we let you down at short notice.

If you wish to make any thoughts or feelings known to the Borough about the impact this has had on family arrangements please contact Andy Skeggs:
andy.skeggs@havering.gov.uk

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Lois Nicholls
Headteacher
