Diary Dates

Queen’s Birthday
We haven’t forgotten about celebrations for the Queen’s Birthday. Due to a hectic diary this week, we will be celebrating next week. EYFS will hold their Tea Party and Red White & Blue Day on Thursday. The rest of the school will have theirs on Friday. Pupils can wear red white and blue colours for the tea parties. Food will be provided by the school.

Class Photo Day:
Monday is Class Photo Day… so make sure you have the hair brushed, teeth sparkling and uniform pressed!

Diary Dates
Next week we have a number of theme weeks running at the same time: Healthy Eating, Poetry & My Money week! This will involve our children trying some healthy foods, making smoothies, performing poems, working with other schools and learning tips on managing their money. On Monday Year 6 are off to Victoria Park, while in the afternoon we have some Y5 pupils going to the Barbican to watch the London Symphony Orchestra perform. Miss Sparkes and Miss Rollin are taking the Reading League winners to the Hockey Tournament at the Olympic Park. In addition the Cedar Spinebreakers are off to the Hilldene Library at 2pm.

On Tuesday we have guests from an American University coming to see our school and learn about how we teach literacy at Broadford. We also have another cycle club with Phil. Year 6 have a workshop with the Sky Blue Theatre - Romeo & Juliet is the focus.

Wednesday 15th is another chance to see the school nurse between 8.30-9.30am and Hazel have their Sharing Assembly.

On Thursday we have the Royal tea party for EYFS (Reception & Nursery). Year 5 also have their Shakespeare workshop with Macbeth.

Finally we complete the week with our Poetry Performance - done in partnership with the other Harold Hill schools - and the JTAs are off to visit the Town Hall. We also have a visit from The Avenue Primary school. After school there is another cycle club for our budding riders. Reception are hoping for good weather on Friday as they are off to Cudmore Grove. During the afternoon our JTAs are also off to the Town Hall to edit the last edition of Talking Steps for this year.

Sharing Assembly:  Hazel 9.10am Wednesday 15th June
We are delighted to welcome the parents of pupils in Willow class for their Sharing Assembly. This will start at 9.10am.

Parent Council Update: Tuesday 28th June
We have now met with the Borough regarding the demolition. As you can see they have not wasted any time in getting started. Now that we are aware of the details we’d like to fix a date for the next Parent Council meeting for Tuesday 28th June. It may seem late but we have been waiting to get confirmation of: Teaching School status, demolition, Federation and plans for rebuild.
