Primary Proms 2015

On Thursday 7th October 60 of our pupils were delighted to attend The Primary Proms 2015.

This concert, in the stunning venue of the Royal Albert Hall, provides primary school children with the opportunity to experience a live orchestra and encourage their involvement in music.

At the concert 5,000 school children from London schools attended... for free! One of the most inspirational parts of the show is that much of the music is performed by children of the same age.

"I can't believe that children of our age can be so confident. They had to perform in front of thousands of pupils. It must have been really scary!"
Tianna Osho

Of the pupils that went on the trip 90% had never seen a live orchestra, 100% had never visited the Royal Albert Hall and 100% of those on the trip said that it has inspired them to work harder in their music lessons.

"The choir was amazing. Their voices started off so gently and then it became a roar. How did only 20 people manage to fill a hall so large with their voices?"
Lilly Reynolds

About the Royal Albert Hall
The Royal Albert Hall is one of the most famous venues in the world, regularly presenting some of the best known performers in a range of genres on its stage. From classical music concerts to rock and pop, from opera and ballet to circus, from community events to tennis, the Hall’s programme is incredibly diverse.

The Royal Albert Hall was built to fulfil the vision of Prince Albert (Queen Victoria's consort) of a 'Central Hall' that would be used to promote understanding and appreciation of the Arts and Sciences and would stand at the heart of the South Kensington estate, surrounded by museums and places of learning.

"I have never been here before. The hall was so impressive to look at. Suddenly the dome loomed up above the trees. Inside it was HUGE!"
Aiden Paterson
