Builders clear away mud for new EYFS Garden

While many of us were still resting on the sofa, weighed down by mince pies and one too many slices of Christmas cake, the builders were hard at work. Now that the new Nursery is handed over, they are free to concentrate on completing the outdoor play area for the children. Tree houses, slides, giant sand pits, tunnels, a musical performance area, trike track and all weather play surface... our pupils will have the very best.

However there was the small matter of over 400 cubic metres of mud to shift. Amazingly that weighs approximately 480 tonnes! Despite already shifting that amount once during the October half term, that still wasn't enough. Just look at the images below to see what the builders had to achieve this week. Fortunately it has all been moved in time. As a result the hardcore base can go in from Monday, which means we are on schedule!
